In 2007 and 2009, Dr Montague visited an orphanage in Bamako, Mali, providing dental care, supplies and oral hygiene instruction to children in need. Dr. Montague, his team and his friends and patients have also provided financial support to this cause over the years.
Dr. Montague is a member of the Toronto Dental Society, and frequently visits Toronto-area schools to lecture about careers in health science, and provide youth counseling.
A long-time volunteer with AABHS – the Association for the Advancement of Blacks in Health Science – Dr Montague has invited high-school students into his office as part of their Summer Mentorship Program for over ten years.
Dr. Montague has established an undergraduate scholarship at his alma mater, the University of Windsor. The Dr. Kenneth Montague African Diaspora Scholarship is “awarded to students of African descent, in recognition of the unique educational needs of members of their communities.”
In honour and appreciation of Dr. Montague, his caring and dedicated team chose to celebrate his birthday by donating their time to provide a day of free dental care to deserving and needy children. The Dr. Montague birthday “Clinic for Kids” was such a meaningful and fulfilling endeavour that it is now an annual event. Please contact our office for more information about this clinic or to refer a child who would benefit from being a part of it.
